Leeds United are underperforming at the moment.
There’s no doubt about it, the Whites have won just two of their last nine league games, but despite this they still sit second in the league.
Of course, there are a number of players in the squad who haven’t been putting in their best performances of late, and one man who certainly falls into that category is Kiko Casilla.
The Spaniard has certainly been poor in recent times, conceding every shot on target in Leeds’ 5-4 win against Birmingham City, and making a crucial error in their 2-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

He wasn’t great again against Wigan on Saturday, with fans taking to social media after the game to slate him, but he’s certainly not to blame for the Whites’ loss at the weekend.
The reality is that Casilla conceded just once against the Latics, to what has to be described as one of the flukiest goals ever as a corner deflected off of Pablo Hernandez and looped over the Spaniard into the net.
Could he have done better? Probably, but he was crowded by two players, and it’s so hard to anticipate something like that happening.
He had a few other shaky moments, for example in the first-half when he failed to deal with a long-range shot. He opted to parry the ball rather than catching it, but it wasn’t punished.
The former Real Madrid man could have played like a prime Manuel Neuer and the best Leeds would have gotten is a draw, and that’s due to their inability to put the ball in the net.
Look at Brentford’s game at the weekend. David Raya made one of the funniest goalkeeping gaffes you’re likely to ever see, but they won 5-1 so all was forgotten.
Casilla let in a soft goal on Saturday, and it’ll be remembered due to the fact Leeds failed to do anything up the other end, despite creating 12 more chances than the visitors.
The goalie hasn’t been great, but that blunder in a game that United were dominating shouldn’t have cost them points.
In other news, Leeds’ fate could be all but decided in the next few weeks.
